Media Literacy for Me

Yesterday students from Novogrudok, Priluki and Minsk took part in the introductory training of “Media Literacy for Me” Project.
During the first session the students evaluated self-involvement into media, discussed the influence of media on our lives and found out why it is important to be aware of it. The second session by Leslie Gib was devoted to fake news and learning how to debunk them. The students learnt how to check any media messages following a simple but yet effective E.S.C.A.P.E. acronym from NewseumED. The last session gave the students a chance to learn about “the survival kit” of a digital citizen. What do passwords and coffee have in common? How are our posts similar to a permanent marker? These are some of the questions the students got answers to.
Teenagers had a great time learning new things and interacting with the peers from other regions of Belarus.
